Every romantic comedy needs its Mr Right, but the fact that the woman searching for him in this fluffy outing is called Ms Wright tells you a lot about just how low it sets its comic sights. It's a Cinderella fantasy set in the world of NBA basketball with hip-hop stars Queen Latifah and Common as an unlikely pair of would-be lovers. She's a plus-sized physical therapist, he's a multimillionaire player for the New Jersey Nets recuperating from a busted knee. Romance blossoms over ice packs, half-time pep talks and a shared passion for - gulp - Joni Mitchell. Over-familiar and overlong, Just Wright would be totally wrong if it weren't for its likeable cast: Queen Latifah's big-hearted charm is nicely matched by Common's laidback ease, while Paula Patton squeezes into designer fashions as the wannabe WAG caught in the ensuing love triangle.
Plot Summary
