Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell get the opportunity to show off who has the best personal trainer (it's probably a draw) in this hugely silly, hugely enjoyable action thriller. The main twist in this buddy caper is that Stallone, as narcotics cop Ray Tango, is actually quite sophisticated (he even wears glasses at times), while Russell, as Tango's departmental rival, Gabe Cash, is the no-brain, all-brawn thug. The plot follows the bickering duo all the way to a brutal maximum security prison, where they're forced to become allies after being framed by evil drugs baron Jack Palance. Desperate Housewives's Teri Hatcher provides the glamour, while Russian director Andrei Konchalovsky produces lots of big explosions, but this is really all about Stallone and Russell doing their utmost to out-macho each other. The result is great, brainless fun.

Plot Summary
