Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold go through their paces for a third time, beginning once again on Murphy's home turf in Detroit then moving to Beverly Hills and a theme park called Wonder World. Even ardent advocates of recycling garbage might query the principle as shown here, though John Landis - who also directed Murphy in Trading Places and Coming to America - does pull off the occasional visual joke and an impressive set-piece car chase. If Murphy looks bored by the whole thing, that fine character actor Hector Elizondo adds some genuine quirkiness.

Plot Summary

Action comedy starring Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold. When his boss is murdered, Detroit cop Axel Foley tracks down the suspects to a California theme park called Wonder World. With old friend Billy Rosewood, Foley sets out to crack the case.
