This dystopian urban thriller is set in a lawless London in 2015 with youth gangs now fighting over scarce food supplies rather than drugs. Newcomer Kedar Williams-Stirling does well enough as Junior, fleet-footed lookout for the Paper Chaserz crew, headed by his tough-guy elder brother Rager (British hip-hop star Ashley "Bashy" Thomas). The Paper Chaserz's anti-violence stance comes under pressure after a vicious attack by a rival outfit, and what follows is wholly uneventful - a lot of musical interludes, computer animation, and traipsing around sundry council estates, but little in the way of a connecting plot or action highlights. This is one of the dullest gang flicks ever to see the light of day, and its otherwise commendable insistence on rejecting knife crime is somewhat compromised by having the ostensibly peace-loving posse prepared to tackle their foes with an assortment of hammers and iron bars.
Plot Summary
Futuristic action thriller starring Adam Deacon, Michael Socha, Kaya Scodelario and Colin Salmon. London 2015: with the economy in a state of collapse and food in short supply, the city has become a war zone dominated by gangs. One south London gang, the Paper Chaserz, gets along by trading rather than violence, but when one of their number is killed, the victim's brother wants vengeance.
