Our Score
It's New Year's Eve at Phoenix airport and air traffic controller Kiefer Sutherland is called in to ease the tension relating to extra flights. When bad weather causes electrical failures, a crisis occurs involving a fully loaded 737 jet and a dangerous situation must be avoided at all costs. Suffering in comparison to the much more exciting and realistic Pushing Tin, this mundane thriller mostly takes place in one cramped set and the model aircraft special effects only give it a further TV-movie sheen. Sutherland seems incapable of doing anything except looking constantly worried, and the tiresome, slow-moving story depicts the entire air industry as made up of inexperienced idiots.

Summary

An air traffic controller is constantly haunted by traumatic memories of a plane crash he failed to prevent, but is persuaded to return to work. However, a ferocious storm breaks out and the control tower's equipment fails - placing a flight in deadly peril unless the troubled employee can pull himself together and save the day. Drama, starring Kiefer Sutherland, Robert Sean Leonard and Kelly McGillis.
