Action-packed to the max, and mounted on a massive scale, the big-screen transfer of Hasbro's other popular toy line (after Transformers) is a nonstop thrill-ride. The Mummy director Stephen Sommers here delivers a terrific blend of comic-book adventure and James Bond-style spectacle, as the special-ops team of super-elite soldiers (known collectively as "GI Joe") battle the mysterious Cobra organisation. The dialogue is hilariously self-aware (when the Eiffel Tower collapses, the French are "pretty upset") and the bold multi-story narrative - with smart flashbacks to the origins of key characters, such as Channing Tatum's patriotic hero Duke and Sienna Miller's evil Baroness - doesn't flag. The marvellous gadgetry, meanwhile, is every action man's fantasy - from propulsive power suits to metal-eating, nanomite weaponry - and is matched by high-quality visuals that continually assault the senses.
Plot Summary

A US Army unit transporting nano-tech warheads is ambushed by the mysterious Cobra organisation, and only saved by the arrival of the elite GI Joe troops. But Cobra is determined to steal the weapons - and the GI Joe team could be undone by deception and betrayal from within.
