Our Score
This sequel to Every Which Way but Loose typifies the kind of lightweight, disposable comic vehicles that paid Clint Eastwood's rent in the late 1970s and early 80s. Short on plot but tall on slapstick humour, and featuring real-life girlfriend Sondra Locke as his love interest and the always likeable Geoffrey Lewis as his best buddy, it has a lightweight charm that makes up for the general insignificance of the story. Eastwood plays a car mechanic pushed back into bare-knuckle boxing by the Mafia for one last fight. Destructive orangutan Clyde steals scenes like an old pro, and there's an enjoyably overblown climax as Clint and intimidating bruiser William Smith stage a bare-knuckle showdown in the rousing spirit of The Quiet Man.

Street-fighting trucker Philo Beddoe and his faithful orang-utan Clyde are targeted by the Mafia, who want to cash in on Philo's potential as a money-making brawler. However, they first have to kidnap him before they can persuade him to go along with their plans. Comedy sequel, starring Clint Eastwood, Sondra Locke, Geoffrey Lewis, Harry Guardino and Ruth Gordon.
