Although it's written and directed by Kevin Smith of Clerks fame, the shadow of comedy maestro Judd Apatow (Knocked Up) looms large over this enthusiastically non-PC mix of filth and fun. Apatow regular Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks (who appeared in Apatow's The 40 Year Old Virgin) play a couple of cash-strapped housemates who've been best friends since childhood. When they can't pay their bills, they decide to raise some cash by starring in and marketing a home-made porno movie. But does having sex affect their friendship? You bet it does. Funniest when it's at its filthiest, but less successful when it slips into generic romantic comedy slush, this is an intermittently hilarious smut-fest, and most definitely not for the less broad-minded.
Plot Summary
Romantic comedy drama starring Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks. Things get desperate for lifelong friends and flatmates Zack and Miri when neither has the money to pay the rent. They need cash fast, but is shooting and marketing their own adult movie the best way to get rich?
