Western starring Jeff Chandler and Fess Parker. An ex-con tries to bring a halt to the empire building of a ruthless man responsible for the death of his wife.
In this long-winded western, Jeff Chandler plays the leader of a private army of raiders called the Jayhawkers. Pitched against him is former jailbird Fess Parker, who for reasons of personal revenge decides to put a stop to Chandler's empire-building ambitions. With his Napoleon complex, dislike for women, and strong affection for his adversary, Chandler is far more colourful than homespun Parker, who should've stuck to playing Davy Crocket on screen. Although handsomely photographed by Shane cameraman Loyal Griggs and vigorously scored by Jerome (The Big Country) Moross, it's is a dramatically muddled bore.
