Our Score
Anna Friel has had problems choosing decent roles in good movies and this didn't change her run of duff luck. Smacking of TV drama rather than film, this UK/Canadian co-production details the experiences of two London lasses who marry Canadian soldiers during the Blitz. Friel and her daughter are subsequently shipped over to Canada to live with the family of her husband (Aden Young) until his return. However, his mother (Brenda Fricker) and sister (Molly Parker) fail to clutch her to their bosoms and it's up to Friel to win them - and the entire community - over. Uneven performances and a lightweight plot combine to make this forgettable drama just wash over you.
