The title alone should give you an idea of how much saccharin has been poured over this festive confection. But director Ted Kotcheff and writers Pamela and Earl Wallace are shrewd enough to lace the shamelessly sentimental saga with some acerbic quips from Shawn Alex Thompson, playing the right-hand man who helps playboy boss Eric McCormack "rent" a family in a bid to convince Hector Elizondo to buy the family factory. However, Elizondo isn't just a businessman: he's also an angel, who ensures that McCormack's gaze just happens to fall upon employee and struggling single mum Roma Downey.
