In this western, Randolph Scott returns to town to avenge a bullwhipping he received for daring to court a cattle baron's daughter some years earlier, and finds that she has married another. Her father, meanwhile, is now almost blind and about to lose his spread. With outlaws and landgrabbers stirring up trouble, Scott has his hands full. Dorothy Malone plays the girl he left behind, with Peggie Castle as the usual contrast, a saloon singer hooked up with the bad guys. It's not a great western, but there are many that are worse.

A cowboy vows revenge on a rancher who had him publicly bullwhipped and forced out of town for daring to court his daughter. He plans to have the cattleman's deed to his farm declared invalid, but when outlaws emerge with their own designs on the land, he has to choose between getting what he wants and becoming a killer. Western, with Randolph Scott, Dorothy Malone and Robert Barrat.
