Our Score
This off-kilter romantic comedy finds a shy motel worker falling for one of his guests, a sales rep dealing in the sort of paintings only ever seen in hotel rooms. Sympathetic casting certainly works in the film's favour, with Steve Zahn skilfully portraying the aching vulnerability of his socially maladjusted nerd (whose idea of a chat-up line is "You have a great butt."), while Jennifer Aniston convinces as the seemingly hoity-toity businesswoman who responds to her gawky suitor's utter lack of guile. So far, so good. But having set up the characters, first-time writer/director Stephen Belber doesn't really know where to take them, and the central love story is buried under a welter of would-be quirkiness - including a spot of skydiving, and Woody Harrelson as Zahn's yoghurt-tycoon love rival. So, an essentially sweet-natured tale of two lonely people finding each other rather outstays its welcome, though not due to Zahn and Aniston, who acquit themselves well in the circumstances.

A travelling art saleswoman and a motel employee begin an unconventional courtship when she stays at the establishment during a business trip. However, when it is time for her to return home, he has trouble letting go of his new-found romance and impulsively decides to follow her cross-country. Comedy, starring Jennifer Aniston, Steve Zahn, Margo Martindale and Woody Harrelson.
