Our Score
Like Monsters, the no-budget 2010 alien-invasion drama, The Dinosaur Project is testament to what can be done relatively cheaply these days if you have access to computer special effects programs and a certain amount of know-how. A group of scientists, and the inevitable camera-toting teen, head deep into the Congolese jungle to prove the truth or otherwise of local legends about a living dinosaur. When their helicopter crash-lands, they find themselves in a veritable lost world of prehistoric beasts. But professional and personal rivalries soon prove more dangerous than the creatures themselves. Filmed in modish "found-footage" style, The Dinosaur Project is a kind of Jurassic Park clone, with less of a bite. The dinosaurs are decently rendered but the effects are not well supported by the confused and oddly unimaginative story. However, it's British, it's kind of fun and, at barely 80 minutes, it doesn't outstay its welcome.

Summary

They get more than they bargained for when they find that in this part of the world dinosaurs are not extinct, leaving them in danger of becoming prey.
