This overly melodramatic true-life TV-movie drama wouldn't be out of place on The Jerry Springer Show. Anne Heche chews the scenery as the unreliable mother whose poor choice in boyfriends and inability to resist temptation leaves her five children at risk. Eventually, after a period of calm at grandma Diane Ladd's is disturbed by more of Heche's substance-fuelled selfishness, 17 year-old Kristen Bell goes to court in a bid to adopt her siblings and give them a shot at normality. It's dismayingly low-grade entertainment.
