Disney cuteness meets Jerry Bruckheimer-produced action in this part-CGI animated tale of a guinea pig task force (G-Force) desperate to prove to their FBI funders they're a worthy investment. Cue a spectacularly executed plan to breach the security of domestic appliance mogul Bill Nighy, whom they suspect of running a covert arms operation. There are lively turns from the voice cast, especially Sam Rockwell as team leader Darwin and Penélope Cruz as martial arts expert Juarez, and the film has all the action you'd expect from a Bruckheimer project - in fact, it's almost too tense for young children at times. Some of the jokes are rather adult for youngsters to fathom, but the CGI effects are breathtaking, especially the fireworks display gone wrong, an enormous Transformers-style robot and a cockroach-infested disco ball. The problem here is getting the quality of the live action to match the animation; the solution: give Bill Nighy more to do next time.
