More camp and colourful than the other more recent incarnations of the Dark Knight, this is the movie spin-off from the hit TV series of the 1960s, with Adam West as the Caped Crusader and Burt Ward as the Boy Wonder. Lee Meriwether, the least well known of the three actresses who played Catwoman in the 1960s (the others were Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt), takes on the role here, while Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin show today's actors just how to play the Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler. Director Leslie H Martinson allows the pace to slacken occasionally, but Lorenzo Semple Jr's script overflows with irresistible throwaway gags.

Plot Summary

Action fantasy based on the 1960s TV series, starring Adam West and Burt Ward as Gotham City's famous crimefighters, Batman and Robin. The Dynamic Duo face their toughest case when their arch enemies - Penguin, Joker, Riddler and Catwoman - team up to take over the world.
