This is family fare for the kind of family that thinks The Waltons is high drama. Jack London's ferocious story about the half-wolf in the Klondike is tamed, Lassie-style, with most of the savagery squeezed out. Ethan Hawke plays the young gold prospector who seeks to establish a prosperous claim, with the help of dubious partners Klaus Maria Brandauer and Seymour Cassel. It's a bit of a letdown for the previously Oscar-nominated Brandauer, but he makes the most of his minor role.

Plot Summary

Adventure based on the novel by Jack London, starring Klaus Maria Brandauer and Ethan Hawke. The son of a gold miner goes to Alaska seeking his dead father's claim and befriends an orphaned wolf-dog that he calls "White Fang".
