Musical comedy starring Anna Kendrick and Skylar Astin. This campus comedy is like TV series Glee - only bigger, meaner and funnier. Anna Kendrick plays Beca, a would-be DJ who becomes embroiled in the cut-throat world of university a cappella singing when she joins the Barden Bellas. After a humiliating defeat the previous year under uptight soloist Aubrey (Anna Camp), the troupe revamps itself to go up against male rivals the Treblemakers. With stereotypical characters like Rebel Wilson's Fat Amy, it's perfectly obvious where the story is headed, but the razor-sharp energy and a terrific script make up for a fistful of clichés.
