A movie that doubles as a long infomercial for American comedian Steve Harvey's bestselling self-help book on romance, Think like a Man is a simple-minded, earthy look at the snarls of modern relationships. It centres on a group of women who test out Harvey's man-handling advice while the men they are pursuing undermine them by using the same DIY manual. Although the film is energetically directed by Tim Story (Barbershop, Fantastic Four), the snippets of advice delivered direct to camera by Harvey himself are awkwardly interwoven with the narrative. The cast does what it can with some amusing set pieces and asides (not least from the happily divorced Kevin Hart), but mainly this is as stereotypical as it comes.
Plot Summary
Four women take the advice of a self-help book on how to control their boyfriends, and are impressed with the results. However, the men also manage to get hold of a copy and conspire to use their inside knowledge to turn the tables. Comedy drama, with Michael Ealy, Taraji P Henson, Jerry Ferrera and Gabrielle Union.
