The follow-up to the hit 2010 dance extravaganza has exactly the same recipe as before, only played out on a slicker canvas. Returning directors Max and Dania keep the easy charm intact, the characterisation on the right side of minimal and the tone consistently appealing. Falk Hentschel stars here as Ash, a freestyle dancer who combs Europe (along with the returning George Sampson) to find the best performers to win the Final Clash in Paris following an earlier humiliation by a rival crew. But will his fusion of Latin and streetdance thrill the hip-hop brigade, and can he learn to "share the moment" with hot salsa partner Sofia Boutella? Dodgy-accented Tom Conti plays Boutella's protective uncle, whose club doubles as the group's rehearsal space, and there's pillow fighting and other antics to illustrate the big-screen 3D process. But in this worthy successor, it's once again the dancing that counts, and this sure-fire crowd-pleaser delivers sensational high-energy routines to some great pop hits.

Plot Summary

A dancer tries to put a humiliating defeat in a contest behind him by assembling an international dance crew to compete in a high-profile European event. He finds a perfect recruit in a Cuban salsa teacher, but his plan to combine their dance forms into a new style is threatened by their feelings for each other. Drama, starring Falk Hentschel, Tom Conti and Sofia Boutella.
