Jennifer Westfeldt writes, directs and co-stars opposite Adam Scott in this story of best friends who come to a big decision after watching the impact having offspring has on their friends' previously sexy, fun and exciting relationships. Why should they wait for the perfect partner with whom to procreate, only for the relationship to invariably implode? Surely, they reason, it would be better to have a child together and let love blossom elsewhere. The film reunites many of the cast from Bridesmaids (Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Chris O'Dowd) in supporting roles. And while it may not reach that film's comic heights, the predictable genre trappings are tempered with plenty of wit and charm - albeit with the prerequisite gross-out scene.
Plot Summary
Two single people notice that the spark seems to go out of their attached friends' relationships when they have children. They decide to avoid this problem by having a baby together while continuing to date other people, but find the arrangement more complicated than expected. Comedy, directed by and starring Jennifer Westfeldt. With Adam Scott, Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig.
