Review

Our Score
Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherji star in this amusing tale of criminal lovers who become folk heroes and terrorise a series of cities. It's not quite the Bonnie and Clyde story, mainly because this is Bollywood and director Shaad Ali Sehgal replaces violence with a steady supply of gags and a crisp script. This approach is initially delightful and the film certainly has an air of romanticism, particularly with its portrayal of the relationship between Bachchan and Mukherji. But when tough cop Amitabh Bachchan (Abhishek's real-life father) enters the fray, determined to hunt down the dastardly duo, Ali Sehgal's effort rapidly descends into melodrama. What promised to be a comic masterwork is let down by a convenient and all-too-tame ending.

Summary

Romantic adventure, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee as Rakesh and Vimmi, who run away from their overbearing parents to become a Bonnie and Clyde-style criminal couple. They embark on a series of elaborate schemes to fleece the wealthy out of their riches, but also attract the attention of an obsessive detective. Shaad Ali Sehgal's film is initially charming, but descends into melodrama toward the end. With Amitabh Bachchan.
