The Night Caller

The Night Caller

John Gilling (1965)

Our Score
Imagine you are an alien sent to Earth to find women to help repopulate your planet. How would you go about recruiting them? By placing a wanted advert in Bikini Girl magazine, of course. That is the premise behind this cheerful piece of nonsense from cheapie specialist John Gilling. Playing along with it are John Saxon as the earnest American scientist who is called in to investigate the arrival of a mysterious pod, and Alfred Burke as the copper unable to explain a spate of disappearances of young women. The undoubted highlight is the TV interview spoof in which Warren Mitchell plays an anxious parent discussing the generation gap.

An alien mutant from outer space hits upon the clever scheme of abducting females from Earth as a means of repopulating his planet, which has been destroyed by nuclear war. Sci-fi, starring John Saxon, Maurice Denham, Patricia Haines and Warren Mitchell.
