Our Score
A dig at the world of advertising featuring Doris Day, reuniting her with her Pillow Talk co-star Rock Hudson. This ultra-glossy romantic comedy is very much of its period, but the idea of Madison Avenue executives marketing a nonexistent product (called VIP) remains a good one, and the anti-advertising jokes are still funny. Day and Hudson get fine comic back-up from Tony Randall as the indecisive agency boss, Edie Adams as a chorus girl and Jack Kruschen as the "inventor" of the non-product. Stanley Shapiro and Paul Henning's script was Oscar-nominated, though the finale (watch and wince) is astoundingly tasteless.

Advertising executive Carol Templeton is determined to outdo her competitor Jerry Webster at every opportunity. When an important campaign comes up, she tries to beat him to it and clinch the deal, whatever the price. Unfortunately for her, she fails to realise the whole thing is a set-up devised by her hated rival. Romantic comedy, starring Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Tony Randall, Edie Adams and Jack Oakie.
