Review

Our Score
Adapted from Jerrard Tickell's popular novel, The Hand and Flower, this mix of poignant drama and postcard comedy follows cockney darts captain Stanley Holloway as he leads his team on a trip to Boulogne. Some familiar faces, including Thora Hird and Bill Owen, appear in cameo roles, but the stories that linger longest in the mind are those owing least to contrivance: notably widower James Hayter's return to his honeymoon hotel, and ex-soldier Donald Sinden's reunion with Odile Versois, the beauty he'd known as a child during the war.
