History buffs will despair at the liberal use of fiction in this animated adventure that starts around the time of the Russian Revolution. Children, however, will be enchanted by the tale of Anastasia, the tsar's young daughter and the only one of his offspring to survive after the evil Rasputin puts a curse on the family. Ten years later, orphaned and without any recollection of her past, she is reunited with her grandmother and discovers her heritage - but Rasputin is lurking in the wings. Sweet stuff for the children, with Meg Ryan, John Cusack, Angela Lansbury and Christopher Lloyd providing the voices.

Plot Summary
