Our Score
The depressingly familiar culture of violence in America is the subject of this TV drama, based on events that took place in Wyoming in 1986. Richard Thomas (The Waltons) is cast against type as deranged ex-cop David Young, who holds a school hostage with a home-made bomb, as the police and FBI work to avert a tragedy. Thomas's deranged killer is effective, particularly when contrasted with his squeaky-clean John Boy Walton image. Wendy Crewson plays Young's devoted but equally insane wife, but veteran television hero Robert Urich is inexplicably wasted as a passive teacher. Though this children-in-jeopardy tale is nothing new, it benefits from an off-kilter comedic approach.

Members of a close-knit community are stunned when the pressures of life prove too much for a former police officer, prompting him to snap in violent fashion, building a bomb and holding pupils at a local school hostage. Drama, starring Richard Thomas, Robert Urich and Wendy Crewson.
