Review

Our Score
Spectrum was a "poverty row" outfit churning out westerns as supporting fillers, invariably for independent main features or drive-in fodder. This is a typical example, a speedy tale featuring singing cowboy Fred Scott and pretty co-star Jean Carmen, who also acted under the name Julia Thayer. There's some action in this one, but unfortunately far too much plot. The sets and costumes, not to mention stories, were continuously reused in this material, and director Raymond K Johnson churned out 18 of these B-westerns between 1931 and 1941 to little distinction. For fans only, and, frankly, it's unlikely to attract any new admirers.
