One Minute to Zero

One Minute to Zero

Tay Garnett (1952)

Our Score
Robert Mitchum goes into action during the Korean War, here teaming up with Ann Blyth - best remembered as Joan Crawford's daughter in Mildred Pierce - who represents the United Nations and provides the love interest. Their romance comes under strain when Mitchum mows down some innocent refugees but, hey, they soon get together for a syrupy song called Tell Me Golden Moon. Despite the pains taken with the battle scenes, this is a pretty dismal job, produced by Howard Hughes's RKO and designed to show how the UN was deep inside Uncle Sam's pocket.

A US colonel is assigned to evacuate American civilians during the Korean War. However, as the enemy forces advance on his position, he is faced with a terrible choice between risking the lives of the people under his protection and opening fire on refugees. Drama, starring Robert Mitchum and Ann Blyth.
