The hackneyed psycho-nanny tale gets another re-tread courtesy of this join-the-dots thriller from Highlander director Russell Mulcahy. A well-cast Mariana Klaveno plays a live-in babysitter whose twisted past violently resurfaces after she becomes obsessed with the head of the family (William R Moses). Klaveno switches effortlessly between sweetly innocent and demonically deranged, keeping events moving despite their predictability. However, the ludicrous dialogue and pedestrian execution only highlight the feature's overall tackiness, while a weak finale offers an unsatisfactory payoff. The content might be stronger than most made-for-TV fare, but it's scant compensation when the rest is so mediocre.

Plot Summary

Thriller starring Gail O'Grady, William R Moses and Mariana Klaveno. When Meghan returns to work, she and her husband decide to hire someone to look after the children and help around the house. Abby seems to fit the bill perfectly, but she soon tries to take over more than just Meghan's domestic duties.
