Men in Black 3

Men in Black 3

Our Score
After a disappointing second instalment in 2002, the men in black are back on top form in this madcap caper. Here, Agent J (Will Smith) is forced to do a spectacular base-jump back to 1969 to keep partner K (Tommy Lee Jones) from getting killed by an alien fugitive (a truly flesh-crawling Jemaine Clement) and set the stage for an action-packed and charming buddy movie. Smith is, as always, wisecrackingly cool as J and Jones is his usual curmudgeonly self. But it's Josh Brolin who really lights up the screen with a rib-tickling tour de force as K's younger incarnation. The chemistry is just right and director Barry Sonnenfeld exploits this rather than the visuals (as he did in Men in Black 2). The effects are still cutting edge, but when the script is just as sharp, the adventure is much more satisfying.

An alien criminal escapes from a prison on the moon and goes back in time on a mission of revenge, changing the course of history. Agent J of the top-secret Earth defence organisation follows him back to 1969, and joins forces with a younger version of his mentor Agent K to set things right. Sci-fi comedy sequel, starring Will Smith, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones.
