Our Score
Directed by Al Pacino, this is a companion documentary to his Salomé, the filmed version of the powerful, no-frills 2006 theatre staging of the Oscar Wilde play. Part "making of" and part exploration of Pacino's obsession with Wilde in general (and his Salomé in particular), Wilde Salomé also features extended extracts from Salomé, starring Jessica Chastain as the biblical dancer who famously gets her kit off for King Herod and demands the head of John the Baptist as payment. It's a solid but unsensational documentary, best watched in conjunction with Salomé... but not too closely in conjunction, for so extended are the extracts that, seen too closely together, you may feel you've just sat through the same film twice.
