Review

Our Score
George A Romero meets Guy Ritchie for some lame laughs in this East End riff on Shaun of the Dead. Harry Treadaway and Rasmus Hardiker play brothers who rob a bank to stop the closure of grandad Alan Ford's retirement home for cockney stereotypes just as a zombie outbreak occurs when a 1666 burial ground is uncovered by construction workers. While the young cast are likeable, it's the kick-ass older generation - Richard Briers, Honor Blackman, Dudley Sutton - who really add spark to the cheap and cheerful proceedings: Briers outrunning a zombie on his zimmer frame being the best gag. Despite some nice creative flashes from director Matthias Hoene, notably the opening credits and manic finale underscored by Chas and Dave's Head to Head (with the Undead), the one-joke set-up quickly pales, the story becomes disjointed and the splatter gets all too repetitive.

Summary

Two brothers plan to rob a bank to save their grandfather's retirement home. However, on the day of the heist, an ancient tomb is disturbed in London's Docklands, unleashing a horde of zombies. As the crooks fight their way through the city, the residents of the care home fight back against the besieging undead. Comedy horror, starring Harry Treadaway, Rasmus Hardiker, Richard Briers and Honor Blackman.
