You can almost guarantee that your favourite Carry On clip will be missing from this compilation, which sticks to all the obvious moments that had already been aired on the TV "best of" series. Kenneth Williams and Barbara Windsor shot a few linking scenes that contain some of the biggest laughs, but there's more than a ring of truth in Williams's contention that the later films scripted by Talbot Rothwell were overly dependent on smut and lacked the sharpness of his earlier efforts. With a little more imagination and discrimination, this could have been a cracking collection, but it's still well worth watching.
