Our Score
Not one of the best of the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce forays into Sherlock Holmes territory, which is a shame because the finale could have been wonderfully surprising if it had been treated better. The members of the "Good Comrades Club" - a group of wealthy men living in a Scottish mansion - are being killed off one by one, and Watson himself is kidnapped when he joins Holmes to investigate. Holmes even seems to regret his disappearance, but, as Bruce had declined into oafish bumbling by this stage of the series, we sadly don't. This is based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story The Adventures of the Five Orange Pips.

Supersleuth Sherlock Holmes and loyal sidekick Dr Watson investigate a strange series of murders at a remote Scottish mansion. Mystery, starring Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Dennis Hoey and Paul Cavanagh.
