Our Score
Adapted from Anthony Armstrong's short story The Case of Mr Pelham, this wonderfully improbable chiller affords the rare opportunity to see Roger Moore being acted off the screen - by Roger Moore! The respectable business executive whose life is transformed by a car crash is a drip of the first order, but the sinister alter ego who escapes while he is unconscious is a rip-roaring cad. Veteran director Basil Dearden just manages to sustain the eerie atmosphere and, even though the mistaken identity card is overplayed and the ending is telegraphed, it's very watchable.

A respectable executive recovers after a car accident, only to find that he has been seen in places he has never been to, has ruined his own business and is having an affair. He becomes convinced a double of him now exists, and is destroying his life, but also fears he may be losing his mind. Psychological thriller, starring Roger Moore, Hildegarde Neil, Anton Rodgers and Freddie Jones.
