By now the formula was starting to look stale, although more sequels were to follow this tired effort. The opponent here is Mr T, before he became a star in The A-Team, who takes Sylvester Stallone's championship crown; Rocky then battles to reclaim it. Writer/director Stallone once again finds roles for Carl Weathers, Burt Young, Burgess Meredith, as well as Talia Shire as his long-suffering wife, but the story is predictable and it all goes a little flat outside the ring.

Plot Summary

Boxing drama written, directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone. Three years after winning the world championship and having successfully defended his title ten times, Rocky Balboa appears to have everything in life including a beautiful wife and a young son. Then fearsome new challenger Clubber Lang appears on the scene - a boxer so ruthless that Rocky is advised to retire rather than meet him in the ring.
