If only the right stuff used to create the amazing look of this 3D animated adventure had spilled over into its story, character and dialogue, then director Ben Stassen's zero-gravity cartoon really would have had lift-off. The predictable "follow your dreams" tale sees three young insects stow away on the 1969 Apollo 11 mission, offering a fly-on-the-wall view of man's historic Moon landing. En route the trio steps in when Houston has a problem and thwarts a sabotage attempt by the Russians. The visual landscape is astonishingly immersive, with the detailed re-creation of the "One small step for a man" moment a technical marvel. But the saccharine narrative lacks wit (the exclamation "My Lord of the Flies" is as good as it gets) and a much-needed sense of wonder, despite the efforts of a voice cast that includes Christopher Lloyd, Tim Curry and Nicollette Sheridan. In this instance, the "3-D" simply stands for "Dull, Dull, Dull".

Premiere. Houseflies Nat, Scooter and IQ dream of reaching the stars and decide to stow away in the lunch box of an astronaut during the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. However, the trio are called into action when three Russian flies, jealous of the success of their American counterparts, try to sabotage the flight. Animated adventure, with the voices of Tim Curry, Robert Patrick, Nicollette Sheridan and former astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
