Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker must have been desperate to take the lead in this pointless supernatural romantic comedy. She plays deceased bride-to-be Kate, who returns as a ghost to haunt psychic Ashley (Lake Bell) who is falling in love with her ex-fiancé Henry (Paul Rudd). The slight story couldn't be more contrived, the performances are flat (the worst culprit being Jason Biggs as Ashley's gay best friend), the direction (by first-timer Jeff Lowell) is lazy and the slapstick is just plain crude - a bedroom fart gag is a particular low in this Ghost and Mrs Muir wannabe. Because Rudd's character is a vet, the amusing animal card is continually played, too, but laughs still fail to materialise. There's nothing worse than a bungled comedy, but this just might be it.
Plot Summary
Comedy fantasy starring Eva Longoria and Paul Rudd. A bride-to-be who died on her wedding day returns in spirit form to scupper the developing romance between her ex-fiancé and a beautiful psychic.
