Our Score
Veteran producer/director Francis Searle ended his career with a number of comedy shorts (all about 30 minutes long) designed to accompany features in the dying days of the double bill. Such shorts took a simple idea and exploited the potential to the maximum - Eric Sykes's The Plank is arguably the perfect example. Here, Arthur Lowe and friends explore the comic potential surrounding a group of workman digging a hole.
