Although more earthbound than the title suggests, this is one of the better Muppet movies, with a relatively coherent storyline and gags that achieve a high chuckle factor. Nasally challenged Gonzo believes his long-lost family are aliens and that they're coming to take him home. Aspiring TV reporter Miss Piggy and assorted government agents, led by Jeffrey Tambor, want to abduct him for their own ends. Movies from Close Encounters to The Shawshank Redemption are wickedly parodied and guest stars F Murray Abraham, Ray Liotta and Andie MacDowell seem to be having a great time.
Plot Summary
Science-fiction comedy adventure starring the felt friends and featuring guest appearances by F Murray Abraham, Ray Liotta and Andie MacDowell. After discovering that his ancestors might have been aliens, Gonzo finds himself kidnapped by an evil government agent.
