Yes Boss

Yes Boss

Robert Zemeckis (1980)

15 Certificate

Our Score
Tasteless, risqué, outrageous and amoral, this early offering from director Robert Zemeckis (there are signs of his future Forrest Gump greatness) is all these things and more. But it's also one of the funniest ruminations on American values, as the car showroom becomes a warped microcosm of society. Revealing Kurt Russell's under-utilised talent as a first-rate comedian, it's a good-natured, if highly eccentric, wisecracker, finding untold amounts of amusement in the misfortunes and embarrassment of others.

The owner of a car lot finds his business threatened by his unscrupulous brother, who is determined to take over the company. It falls to a salesman with dreams of becoming a senator to defend his workplace with a succession of dirty tricks. Robert Zemeckis' comedy, starring Kurt Russell, Jack Warden, Frank McRae and Deborah Harmon.
