The Scars of Dracula

The Scars of Dracula

Roy Ward Baker (1970)

15 Certificate

Our Score
Christopher Lee considered this his weakest Dracula sequel, but Hammer horror fans like it because the Count has more screen time here than in any other episode. There's also a palpable dark fairy-tale atmosphere achieved by director Roy Ward Baker as Dracula tries sinking his fangs into naive Transylvanian travellers Dennis Waterman and Jenny Hanley. Propping up the formula vampire tale are a memorable death by lightning climax, and more blood, sadism and silly rubber bats than ever before.

A concerned Carpathian student risks life and limb to rescue his ne'er-do-well brother from the vampire count's lair - but makes the mistake of taking his girlfriend with him. Hammer horror, starring Christopher Lee, Dennis Waterman, Jenny Hanley, Patrick Troughton and Anouska Hempel.
