Our Score
English actor Clive Brook, who enjoyed some success in Hollywood, stars in this British film about an English actor who has found success in Hollywood. Yearning for the simplicity of his past, however, he buys his way into a season with a humble British rep company. Leading lady, Anna Lee, complicates things by falling in love with him. Directed by Robert Stevenson, a pacifist who publicised his resentment of British film-makers escaping the war by fleeing to Hollywood, despite being a nice idea, this is a mediocre and technically inadequate film.

An actor who left Britain to seek his fortune in Hollywood feels the need to return to his roots, so joins the cast of a small English theatre company. The experience makes him realise he needs to decide which life he wishes to lead - while an actress who has fallen in love with him is faced with a similar dilemma. Drama, starring Clive Brook and Anna Lee.
