The Brides of Fu Manchu

The Brides of Fu Manchu

Don Sharp (1966)

U Certificate

Our Score
The second outing for Christopher Lee as Sax Rohmer's dastardly mastermind was the first step down the slippery slope of inadequate stories and deteriorating quality for the series. In this bid for world domination, Fu Manchu kidnaps the daughters of 12 international diplomats to cause political chaos. Borne out of a limp publicity stunt involving a beauty contest - the winners won movie roles - Don Sharp's direction rarely lives up to his surname. Even the death ray in Fu Manchu's secret temple fails to raise excitement, although Lee's performance is as entertaining as always.

The evil mastermind kidnaps the daughters of assorted world leaders, intending to build a giant ray gun with the ransom money. Action adventure, starring Christopher Lee and Tsai Chin.
