Those pesky prehistoric piranhas migrate from Lake Victoria to The Big Wet Water Park in this crass, gross and witless sequel to the 2010 hit. Misfiring on all cylinders, as an ironic ode to 70s sleaze, director John Gulager (Feast) begins with a gaseous cow corpse excreting fish eggs, setting the tone for an insulting, juvenile, soft-core sex-obsessed carnival of splatter. This includes vomit spray, gushers of blood and endless piranhas biting sensitive body parts. Meanwhile, Danielle Panabaker is the concerned park co-owner whose venal stepfather has roped off one swimming pool for adult fun (aqua strippers and nude candid camera antics) and wavers between the hot corrupt cop and sensitive nerd for boyfriend material. "Welcome to rock bottom", says David Hasselhoff, reduced to badly emulating his role in Baywatch. He never spoke a truer word.
Plot Summary
A marine biologist is appalled at her stepfather's sleazy plans for the waterpark they co-own, but discovers there are bigger problems to worry about after a series of grisly attacks by man-eating fish. She fails to prevent the grand opening from going ahead, and soon the aquatic predators are feasting on the visitors. Comedy horror sequel, starring Danielle Panabaker and Matt Bush.
