A triumph of high concept from Hollywood, this is the smash-hit comedy that brought John Travolta back from the wilderness into the public eye and spawned two increasingly silly sequels. Kirstie Alley plays the single mother on the lookout for the perfect husband, even though we know that lowly taxi driver Travolta is the safe bet from the outset. Bruce Willis, the wisecracking voice of baby Mikey, has the best lines, although Travolta and Alley are an amiable pairing, and there's nice support from Olympia Dukakis and George Segal.
Plot Summary
Comedy with John Travolta and Kirstie Alley. Mollie is an accountant who has an affair with a married client and becomes pregnant. As the embryo develops it is strangely able to speak from its mother's womb. Later, when she goes into premature labour, a kind-hearted taxi driver comes to her aid.
