Review

Our Score
Irwin Allen, Mr Disaster Movie himself, took a dive in this pilot for a TV series that was never made. It's easy to see why, as each crisis facing the vast submerged 21st-century metropolis of Pacifica had been done better in previous Allen sci-fi shows. Even the cast was familiar: Richard Basehart from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and The Time Tunnel's James Darren and Robert Colbert. Asteroids on a collision course, sea monsters, internal dissension and bullion robberies are piled on in the desperate effort to build excitement. But it's all too much, the performances too wooden and the waterlogged effects too absurd to warrant more than passing interest.

Summary

A Navy admiral is placed in command of a base on the seabed. The government plans to use the installation to store a valuable element, which several parties intend to steal. However, a far greater threat presents itself when an incoming meteor strike threatens to destroy the base altogether. Sci-fi adventure, starring Stuart Whitman and Robert Wagner.
