Our Score
This marks the second live-action dramatisation of Jeff Kinney's popular "cartoon novels" about a smart-aleck American schoolboy, his friends and his family. Zachary Gordon and Devon Bostick return as fighting, feuding siblings Greg and older brother Rodrick, here bribed into bonding by their desperate, peace-seeking parents (Rachael Harris, Steve Zahn, both pitch-perfect). Meanwhile, Greg finds first love - but will first love find him? Rodrick Rules was a big hit stateside, but the school and parenting styles may not resonate quite so well this side of the pond. That said, the pre-teen angst, sibling squabbles and broad comedy should guarantee that it goes down well with five- to ten-year-olds.

Summary

A hapless youngster faces the daunting prospect of starting a new school year and desperately tries to impress a girl in his class. But as if that weren't enough to contend with, his parents also force him to spend more time with his bullying older brother. Children's comedy sequel, starring Zachary Gordon and Devon Bostick.
